Other Frequently Asked Questions

The injection feels like a quick small pinch. We can apply ice and a vibration anesthesia device to help reduce any discomfort. Most patients wouldn’t describe it as painful.

The treatment itself will take under 10 minutes. You will start to notice the effects of the treatment within a few days, with full effect noticed at 2 weeks.

The effects will typically last 3-4 months.

This will depend on the quality of the skin and the number of areas treated. We will discuss this and make recommendations to you during your consultation.

Redness, swelling, and bruising are the most common side effects, and are typically short lived. We will discuss all potential side effects with you during your consultation to make sure that you make the right decision for yourself.

Neuromodulators (Botox, Xeomin) should not be used if you have an active infection at the site to be treated, or if you have a known allergy to an ingredient in the formulations. Patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not have the treatment. Patients with neuromuscular disorders such as ALS, myasthenia gravis or Lambert-Eaton syndrome also should not have the treatment. We will make sure that it’s safe to proceed with the treatment during your consultation.

Aftercare is simple and we will discuss this with you during the consultation, and will give you an aftercare sheet. Essentially you want to avoid anything that makes you red – tanning, exercise, alcohol. These activities increase blood flow to the face, and in theory could wash the product out before it has a chance to work.
